Elin Pritchard - Soprano
 
 
 

Elin is currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on the Post-Graduate course, having completed the degree course in Vocal and Opera Studies in July 2007. She currently studies under the direction of Suzanne Murphy and receives coaching from Catherine Roe-Williams.

 

Elin has been a soloist with the RWCMD Historical Performance department and has also performed with the RWCMD String Ensemble. She has taken part in the lunchtime concerts at the Millennium Centre and the National Museum Cardiff. Elin has been a soloist with Pontypridd Choral Society, Tabernacl Choral Society, Bridgend, and Burry Port Town Band. She has taken the parts of Pauline in La Vie Parisienne (Offenbach), and Girl in Trouble in Tahiti (Bernstein), for RWCMD Opera Scenes March 2007. Elin also performed the part of the Spirit in RWCMD end of term Opera Cendrillon (Massenet), and understudied the part of Dorothee.

 

Elin was a finalist in the Towyn Roberts scholarship at the National Eisteddfod 2007 and has won the prestigious Dame Shirley Bassey Scholarship for 2007 and 2008. She is currently rehearsing for her role as Princess Laoula in the opera L’etoile (Chabrier), which will be performed in July.
