Aled Powys Williams - Baritone
Aled is a native of the Amman Valley. He recently gained a BMus (Hons.) in Vocal Studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff and has experienced success at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Urdd National Eisteddfod and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod as well as being a finalist in both the Vale of Glamorgan Singer of the Year Competition and the Welsh Young Musical Theatre Singer of the Year Competition.
Aled is a member of Serendipity, ONLY MEN ALOUD!, The John S. Davies Singers and was a former member of the BBC National Chorus of Wales with whom he had won a scholarship. In 2007, he appeared with the Welsh National Youth Opera’s production of The Rake’s Progress , where he played the Keeper and the Lyric Music Society production of Carmen, playing the role of Dan Cairo.
Aled’s future performances include creating the role of Billy in the World Premiere of The Calling of Maisy Day with the Welsh National Youth Opera.
